Five juvenile delinquents escaped the evening of Saturday, December 8 from the Zurqui Juvenile Complex in San Luis, Santo Domingo, Heredia.
Officers at the prison noticed the group was missing when they were doing the evening count.
The young men have criminal records for murder, robbery, attempted murder and aggravated robbery.
Penitentiary Police officers with the assistance of Public Police Force are conducting a search in the area.
This is not the first time that inmates escape from this prison, back in September a group of four prisoners escaped by making a whole on one of the fences; all of them were located and arrested again.
